About Us

The goal of the Concan Water Supply Corporation (CCWSC) is to provide our customers with a safe, dependable, and adequate supply of water at all times. The past several years of limited rainfall has made our goal challenging. CCWSC is committed to our goal and has completed several capital improvement projects in 2023 to increase our water supply and delivery dependability:

  1. Constructed a new storage tank facility at the corner of.River Road and Mariposa in Canyon Oaks and connected the water supply from well # 4 to this facility. (Well# 4 was used during the water shortage period in 2022 to fill the transport trucks)
  2. Completed a new pipeline from the Mariposa station to the storage tanks at the CCWSC office complex behind Frio Country.
  3. Completed well# 4A adjacent to well # 4.
  4. CWSC will complete a new 3" pipeline from the Mariposa storage tank facility to the treatment station in Canyon Oaks. This station fills the concrete storage tank on Bluebonnet. This project will be completed before Summer, 2024.

Additionally, CCWSC is pursuing several grants for rural water suppliers and will hopefully benefit from the recent passage of Proposition 6, an amendment to the Texas Constitution advancing the availability of water and supporting sufficient water supply during a drought. Our grant application efforts have been constrained by the average per-capita income of $101,496 for residents in the 78838 zip code, with grants typically favoring lower income areas.

The immediate focus of CCWSC is to invest in capital improvement projects that will increase water supply, dependability, and provide for population growth. These projects are all relatively labor and capital intensive. In order to fund these projects and provide for future growth and water availability, CCWSC has been working with the Texas Rural Water Association as consultants and advisors. CCWSC customers will use approximately 33,000,000 million gallons of water this year, and the last rate change was in 2011. Rather than increase the gallonage charge, CCWSC will increase the monthly meter fee from $25.00 per month to $35.00 per month for 5/8" x ¾" meters. Additional meter charges will apply for meters larger than the standard 5/8" x 3/4" meter size (standard meter equivalents). Additionally, CCWSC will now charge the regular gallonage rate for the first 1,000 gallons which was previously provided at no charge.

CCWSC will continue to work diligently and within our budget to improve water supply, water quality, and dependability for our customers. We appreciate your patience, suggestions, and water conservation efforts. Please contact any of our Directors with any questions or if you need additional information.
